YBE unites traditional knowledge with modern techniques to provide a full range of environmental rehabilitation and horticulture services.

YBE gathers seeds and grows native plants to restore mined land to its pristine condition.

Vetiver Grass

YBE cultivates vetiver grass, a very aggressively growing plant with a root system growing to a depth of 4 metres. Although the growth is rapid, the seeds cast by the plant are sterile. so the grass does not adversely affect the environment.

Vetiver can be used instead of concrete in certain applications such as culvert head walls and steep slopes.

Industrial and Domestic Nursery Sales and Consultancy Services

YBE's sensitivities to environmental issues have uncovered an untapped market for native plants suitable for a wide range of industrial and domestic uses.

The company's nursery provides seedlings and plants for landscaping commercial and residential areas and rehabilitating areas affected by mining and processing.

Other projects include establishing bush tucker and native medicine walks, and commercial hydroponic facilities.
